Books

The following is a select list of notable books that I have successfully promoted:

Notable PR Campaign: Secured best-selling author and cooking personality Rachael Ray her first national TV appearance on "The NBC Today Show" and got her foot in the door at the Food Network.

In 2001, I worked with Lake Isle Press (via National Book Network), the publisher of two of Rachael Ray's latest cookbook releases, on which I was assigned to work: Comfort Foods and Veggie Meals.

I booked Rachael on a couple of radio programs including WHYY in Philly, and as much as possible, blanketed the Food Network with her WRGB-TV tapes (I was given about 25-plus) and sent them to the major network morning shows. A special projects producer at "The NBC Today Show" called me to have her on for a cooking segment, which occurred during a major snow storm. Days later, after Rachael did another on-air cooking segment on a local upstate New York radio station, the Food Network's Vice President of Programming called me asking to schedule a meeting with her. You know the rest of the story.

Notable PR Campaign: "IFilm's Hispanics in Hollywood: 100 Years in Film and Television," featured in the Associated Press, Miami Herald, the LA Times, and CNN en Espanol.

Notable PR Campaign: "A President in the Family: Thomas Jefferson, Sally Hemings, and Thomas Woodson" by author Byron Woodson, who claims Jefferson and Hemings as his ancestors. Book was released around the time the Hemings family descendents were seeking membership in The Monticello Association and a DNA test was being conducted to determine if Jefferson fathered any of Hemings children.

Notable PR Campaign: Published by Cooper Square Press, author Charles Neider's book "The Grotto Berg: Two Novellas" - The late Charles Neider was the distinguished author and editor of several books including “The Complete Stories of Mark Twain", "Antarctica", "The White Citadel", "Naked Eye," and "The Authentic Death of Hendry Jones,“ which was later turned into the movie "One-Eyed Jacks" starring Marlon Brando. Publicity included Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, Kirkus, The Los Angeles Times, and New Jersey Savvy Living.

Notable PR Campaign: "Uneven Lies" [American Golfer] - Pete McDaniel, author of "Uneven Lies: The Heroic Story of African Americans in Golf" - McDaniel is the head writer for Golf Digest and a frequent collaborator with Tiger Woods on golf instruction articles. Tiger Woods wrote the foreword to "Uneven Lies." Publicity coverage included The Miami Herald, Daybreak USA, NPR's "The Todd Mundt Show", Sports Fan Radio Network and an 11-city book tour.
